The best apps to save your Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest recipes in 2026
Every recipe app says the same thing: “import from TikTok and Instagram”. The box is ticked everywhere, so it tells you nothing anymore. The real question: what happens when the recipe is not written in the caption of the post?
That case is common. A Reel where the quantities scroll past as an overlay, a caption that just says “my grandmother’s recipe”, ingredients pushed into a comment. An app that only reads the text of the post hands you an empty shell, and you retype everything by hand.
Here are the four apps that hold up on that ground in July 2026, ranked on that criterion.
1. Cookfolio (web, iOS, Android)
Pricing: Pro €4.99/month or €39.99/year, Family €6.99/month or €59.99/year for 4 accounts (about €1.75 per account). Free: 5 recipes and 5 lifetime imports. Euro prices are billed through the web and Android; on iOS, you pay the price of your local App Store.
Import: 10 formats and sources: photo (JPEG, PNG, WEBP), PDF, Word file, text, web link, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook.
Import method: this is what earns us first place in our own ranking, so we had better be precise. On TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, Cookfolio reads the caption first, then falls back to analysing the video if the caption is not enough. On YouTube, the analysis is native, frame by frame and with the sound; past 30 minutes, or on a private video, the import is ruled out. On Pinterest, the pin’s link is resolved back to the source blog, then imported like a web page; a pin with no outbound link fails cleanly instead of inventing a recipe. One caveat: a web import counts as 1 against the 5 free imports.
Also included: weekly planner, shopping list that merges duplicates, serving adjustment, cooking mode with timers detected in the steps, Family plan for up to 4 accounts, 6 languages, European hosting.
Limits worth knowing: no offline mode. No aisle sorting and no manual additions in the shopping list. On Windows, it runs through the browser (app.cookfolio.eu), not through an installed app.

2. ReciMe (iOS, Android, web, Chrome extension)
If the ranking were about source coverage alone, ReciMe would be ahead of us: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, web, photos, handwritten notes. And 4.8/5 across more than 260,000 ratings is no accident.
Pricing: the US App Store listing shows “ReciMe Plus” tiers at 9.99, 29.99, 39.99 and 59.99 USD without stating the duration of each one. The help center gives the annual plan at 39.99 USD in the United States, with the cost depending on the plan and the country. The monthly price is not documented, so we are not publishing one. 7-day trial.
Free: 5 imports per week, renewable. Credit where it is due: over time, that is more generous than our 5 lifetime imports.
Import method: the cascade is documented by their own help center, and that deserves credit: caption, then a search for the original site, then audio as a last resort. No analysis of the visual stream, the import reads the caption only. So a recipe written in the comments is not picked up, private content fails, and a post with several recipes yields just one.
Also included: a shopping list sorted automatically by supermarket aisle. Cookfolio cannot do that: if you shop aisle by aisle, that is a genuine point against us.

3. Flavorish (iOS, Android, web)
Pricing: $4.99/month and $49.99/year on the US App Store listing; the official site shows $4.99/month. No Mac version.
Free: and this is where it gets hard for us to counter. The Basic plan gives recipes, collections, planners and unlimited web imports, then 5 social imports, 5 images, 5 text and 5 AI generations, as one-off allowances that do not renew. On web imports, that free plan is more permissive than ReciMe’s (5 per week) and than ours (5 lifetime, across all sources). The nuance: ReciMe’s renew every week, Flavorish’s credits are granted once.
Video import method: not documented by the publisher. We make no claim.

4. Pestle (iPhone, iPad, Apple Silicon Mac, Apple Vision, Apple Watch)
Pricing: free, “Free forever on iPhone and iPad”, capped at 15 recipes. Pro on the US App Store listing: $2.99/month, $24.99/year, or two lifetime options at $39.99 and $49.99. Pro unlocks unlimited recipes, sync, household sharing and the planner.
Import: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube through the share sheet, the only Apple-only app in this lineup to claim all four networks. Its method is not documented: we will not say what it does when the caption is empty, because we do not know.
Strength: a guided cooking mode with voice control. Cookfolio has no voice commands.
Limits worth knowing: no native Android app, and on Mac, Apple Silicon M1 at minimum, which rules out Intel Macs. The site mentions web access whose scope we have not assessed.

Two names that keep coming up, and why we do not rank them
Recipe One (iOS and Android) claims PDF and OCR, but its site shows no price at all and the US App Store listing lists in-app purchases from 7.99 to 49.99 USD. With no public price we can cite, we do not rank it: check the store listing.
RecipeClip raises a different problem: three same-named products with no known link. A web app on recipeclip.app (free up to 50 recipes, Pro at $4.99/month), an Android app “RecipeClip: Video Recipe Saver” published by Lebel Apps, and an App Store listing we could not verify. A telling anecdote: an engine we asked about the Android app answered with the pricing of the web app. If an AI assistant quotes you figures about “RecipeClip”, be sceptical.
What about Paprika, Mela and Crouton?
These are excellent recipe keepers, and they beat us where we claim nothing: offline use, one-time purchase, Paprika’s shopping list. But here the answer is simple: Paprika 3, Mela and Crouton do not import from social networks at all. If your recipes come from Instagram and TikTok, they are beside the point.
