AI Import: How Does It Work?
One of CookFolio’s flagship features is intelligent AI import. Take a photo of a handwritten recipe or import a file, and the AI does the rest.
Supported Formats
CookFolio accepts many file formats:
- Photos (JPEG, PNG, WEBP): take a photo of a cookbook page or a handwritten recipe
- PDF: import recipes in PDF format, even scanned ones
- Word (DOCX): import Word documents containing recipes
- Text (TXT): paste the plain text of a recipe
How AI Extracts the Recipe
When you import a file, here’s what happens:
- Validation: the file is verified (type, size, security)
- Processing: images are optimized, text is extracted from PDFs and documents
- AI Analysis: an artificial intelligence model analyzes the content and identifies recipe elements
- Structuring: the title, ingredients (with quantities and units), steps, and times are extracted automatically
Review and Edit
AI isn’t perfect. That’s why CookFolio always offers you the option to review and edit the result before saving. You can adjust each field: correct a quantity, rephrase a step, add a tag.
